Job Description

Memco is seeking a skilled and reliable Bilingual Cable Installer/Puller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of cable systems in commercial settings, including networking, telecommunications, and other data-related services. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.   • Schedule: Sunday - Friday (Afternoon) ; off Saturday
  • Pay: $22 - $24/hr
  • MUST BE BILINGUAL - SPANISH/ENGLISH
  • Travel Pay, Per diem, and lodging provided
  • Must be able to complete a paid orientation/training in Ft. Walton Beach, FL on 4/21 - 4/25
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test & background

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial cable systems, including network cables (CAT5, CAT6), fiber optics, telephone systems, and coaxial cables.
  • Work on projects involving structured cabling systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics to ensure proper installation and layout of cable systems.
  • Test and inspect installed systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and meet customer expectations.
  • Provide on-site support, including cable management, labeling, and organization of cables and related equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, changes, and maintenance procedures.
  • Offer troubleshooting assistance for issues with installed cable systems, diagnosing and resolving issues as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new technologies related to cable installation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous experience in commercial cable installation, telecommunications, or related field.
  • Proficiency with cable splicing, crimping, and installation techniques.
  • Familiarity with network cabling standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA-568 standards for structured cabling systems).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to electrical installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (may be required for travel to various job sites).
  • Certifications in related areas (e.g., BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or similar) are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Work primarily at commercial construction sites or office buildings.
  • May require occasional travel to various job locations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on project requirements.
