Position Title: Commercial Project Division (CPD) Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Project Division (CPD) Manager to oversee the USA and Canada market area for a high-performance construction systems company. This remote position allows flexibility in location, provided the candidate has convenient access to a commercial airport. You'll be joining a market leader in quality shower systems and backer board solutions, focused on innovative, customized tiled spaces for commercial applications. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and involves travel of up to 30%, including occasional overnight stays and attendance at training events and meetings across various locations, including our headquarters in Batavia, Illinois.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management
Lead and grow the Commercial Project Division (CPD) by:
Collaborating with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Regional Sales Managers, and Technical Sales Support Managers to create targeted sales plans and architectural strategies.
Promoting our products to architects, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to expand project specifications and ensure successful implementation.
Developing educational programs for architects, contractors, and subcontractors to build long-term relationships and encourage ongoing specification of products.
2. Architectural & Engineering Support
Act as the main point of contact for architectural and engineering partners by:
Supporting architects, designers, and engineers in the U.S. and Canada with the assistance of field sales representatives.
Providing educational resources, reviewing specifications, and offering installer referrals and technical support.
Keeping architectural documentation updated, including specifications, master booklets, and BIM libraries.
3. Technical Specifications
Bring expertise in waterproofing and tile backer applications by:
Securing product specifications with architects, specifiers, designers, and engineers.
Conducting presentations and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) events to build specifications for projects.
Managing project information tools, checklists, and updates to master specification documents.
4. Project Quotations
Provide accurate project estimates by:
Calculating necessary product types and quantities within project scopes.
Presenting quotes to distributors, architects, and contractors and tracking their progress through project completion.
5. Distributor Support
Work closely with our distributor network by:
Providing regular product and sales training to distributor teams.
Collaborating with distributors' architectural sales teams to develop strategies and improve market reach.
6. Customer Database Management
Utilize lead tracking software and CRM systems to:
Identify, communicate, and manage project opportunities.
Update records daily and provide weekly reports on activity and progress.
7. Tradeshow Representation
Represent the brand at key industry events by:
Exhibiting at regional and national trade shows.
Assisting in the creation of impactful promotional materials, including displays, print ads, and flyers.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years in outside or architectural sales, with supervisory experience.
Leadership: Strong supervisory skills, with experience in managing architectural sales professionals.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with architectural specifications and construction design elements, with experience in building or flooring products.
Interpersonal & Communication: Effective communication, presentation, and listening skills, with a persuasive approach and the ability to build rapport with large groups.
Organizational Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Tech Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and online tools.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 50%, with valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds.
Education
Bachelor's degree (4 years) or higher in a related field.
