Job Title: Director of OCIA

Where: St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church

Yardley, PA

Time requirement: Part-Time

St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church is looking for a part-time Director of OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults). This ministry focuses on the journey of faith and conversion for adults, leading them to become full members of the Catholic Church. The person chosen for this position should be able to facilitate opportunities to encounter Jesus Christ through prayer, Sacraments, and catechesis. The Director of OCIA provides the structure and framework for a program that draws adults deeper into participation in the life of the Church.

Qualifications

• Must be a confirmed and practicing Catholic who models Christian values and actively participates in Church life;
• Have a heart for evangelizing and teaching;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Skilled with social media to attract adults “where they are”;

Responsibilities

• Teach the Catholic faith to adults interested in learning more about Jesus and our Catholic faith;
• Develop a curriculum to address adults at different levels of understanding;
• Recruitment of adults;
• Update records to reflect sacraments completed by those participating in the program;
• Coordination of the OCIA program with the pastor of St. Ignatius of Antioch Church.
