What You'll Do ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates leadership in the areas of safety and environment. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents. Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management. Provide support and leadership to site operations management through implementation of HSE programs, procedures, and education initiatives focused on compliance assurance, incident reduction, and risk mitigation. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Essential Functions: 1.Manage all environmental permits and program requirements specific to the site. 2.Lead implementation and management of site ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. 3.Maintain and report HSE records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements. Includes, but not limited to, OSHA 300 log, incident records, safety metrics, training, inspections, permits, etc. 4.Manages, organizes, coordinates and implements all safety and environmental programs and the associated documented procedures to ensure employee and facility safety. Develops and manages tracking systems associated with monitoring performance against site goals. 5.Responsible for overall coordination of safety training within the facility in accordance with pertinent regulations. 6.Advisor to Safety Committee, responsible for coordinating and implementing approved recommendations of this committee. 7.Responsible for following, monitoring and enforcing safety rules, policies and procedures and applying corrective action when necessary. Responsible for developing awareness and promotional programs aimed at operational safety and a safe work environment. 8.Completes safety portion of new hire and contractor orientation. 9.Reports monthly and annual safety statistics to corporate entities. 10.Tracks employee safety training to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates and company policy. 11.Support site management with the investigation of HSE incidents at the site. Where necessary, lead investigation process and/or collaborate with appropriate corporate staff on serious incidents. 12.Communicate HSE incidents and corrective actions in a timely, thorough, and effective manner. 13.Partner with Human Resources to monitor the status of all open Workers Compensation claims and coordinate activities to minimize lost and/or restricted work days. 14.Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) original file and index by entering new and updating SDS when received, copying and distribution of SDS for all departments involved, filing in master book in front offices. Marginal Functions: 1.Writes work orders as necessary. 2.Provides technical information on facility safety and government regulations as they pertain to health and safety to the Rochester site. 3.Recommends policies and procedures ensuring all employees maintain safety and regulatory compliance. 4.Responsible for knowledge and implementation of all upcoming Federal and State legislation relative to safety and ensures informing the various departments of upcoming changes. 5.Attends and participates in the bi-weekly managers operations meeting and daily stand-up meetings. What You'll Need To Succeed EDUCATION:Bachelors degree, preferably in Safety, Industrial or Environmental Engineering. EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing facility preferably in a food manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, including OSHA, EPA and local requirements. Knowledge and experience with relevant consensus standards such as NFPA and ANSI, and systems such as ISO 14001. Compensation Data The typical hiring range for this role is $91,404.00 to 154,009.00 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
