Job Description

Position: Finance Manager

Location: around the Durham Region, ON

Industry: Manufacturing

Status: Permanent
Salary: depending on experience up to a maximum of $130,000


The Finance Manager will oversee and manage the financial operations of manufacturing facility, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, and the ability to lead a finance team while contributing to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support operational and strategic goals.
Manage and monitor day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability, providing actionable insights to optimize operations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP/IFRS.
Collaborate with management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
Oversee cash flow management, inventory accounting, and capital expenditure processes.
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with audits and tax requirements.


Requirements:


CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) or equivalent is required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA is an asset.
Minimum 5 7 years of progressive financial management experience in the manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and tax regulations.
Expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial modeling.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
