Head Wine and Cider maker – Roo Mountain Vineyards
Location: Ellijay, Georgia
Reports to: Owner/Director of Operations
Position Type: Full-Time

•  ? Key Responsibilities
•  Winemaking and Cider making Leadership: Oversee the entire winemaking process from grape harvest to bottling, ensuring the production of high-quality wines.
•  Fermentation & Blending: Manage fermentation processes, blending, and aging to develop distinctive wine profiles.
•  Quality Control: Conduct regular tastings and lab analyses to monitor wine quality and make necessary adjustments.
•  Team Management: Lead and mentor cellar staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
•  Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations concerning wine production and labeling.
•  Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of wine production, inventory, and equipment.
•  Sustainability Initiatives: Implement and promote sustainable winemaking practices.
•  Community Engagement: Represent the winery at industry events, tastings, and tours to promote our brand.

•  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Enology, Viticulture, or a related field.
•  Experience: Minimum of 5 years in winemaking, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
•  Skills: Strong knowledge of winemaking processes, sensory evaluation, and laboratory techniques.
•  Leadership: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
•  Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•  Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions.
