Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I (PPRO Manager) in the Projects, Procurement, & Reporting Office (PPRO), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) works independently and as part of a team providing Information Technology (IT) services contracting expertise; IT portfolio management; IT agency oversight reporting, and contract review for the California Department of Education (CDE). Using broad knowledge of State IT contracting principles, the incumbent facilitates IT contract solicitation building and execution, and assists project teams on contractual matters. The ITS I also maintains CDE’s IT portfolio, tools and processes as well as ensuring various oversight agency reporting requirements are met. The ITS I provides customer service to internal and external PPRO customers and communicates effectively to maintain cooperative working relationships.

HYBRID
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office.

Information Technology Specialist I:
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• 2+ years of experience working as a State Contract Analyst.
• 2+ years of experience in developing and reviewing solicitation documents for the acquisition of IT solutions and services.
• 2+ years working with staff and management to plan IT contract acquisitions.
• 2+ years of experience in conducting competitive bid evaluations, reviewing, and editing contract terms, conditions, and scope.
• 1+ years of knowledge and/or experience with IT projects.
• Knowledge and experience of CA State procurement and contracting code, processes, and best practices.
