We are working with an innovative company in the home fragrance space to find a talented Perfumer/Chemist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of luxurious, cutting-edge aroma products that enhance everyday living. The selected candidate will play a core role in formulating and evaluating unique fragrances, contributing to the growth and success of the company’s product line. This role reports directly to the head of Product Design and Development.

Job Summary

We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Chemist to join a vibrant team in the aroma industry. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in scientific research and demonstrate expertise in quality control within a laboratory environment. This role focuses on conducting innovative experiments, analyzing chemical data, and ensuring that all products meet strict compliance standards, including CGMP and GLP. You will also utilize advanced tools such as spectroscopy and chromatography to contribute to the creation of high-quality fragrance solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments and research to develop new chemical formulations and processes.
  • Perform quality control tests to ensure product integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Utilize analytical techniques, including spectrophotometry, chromatography, and spectroscopy, to analyze samples.
  • Document experimental processes and findings following GLP standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure peak performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to share research outcomes with internal stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, technologies, and regulations related to biochemistry and chemical manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Solid understanding of quality control and regulatory compliance (CGMP/GLP).
  • Proficiency in advanced analytical tools and techniques, including spectroscopy and chromatography.
  • Experience with scientific research methodologies and laboratory best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively presenting findings.
