Job Title: Site Safety and Health OfficerJob Description
Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the public within a dynamic construction environment. This role requires conducting safety orientations, training, and meetings to maintain high safety standards and compliance.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct new employee safety orientation and ongoing job-specific safety training.
+ Draft and conduct weekly 'all hands safety meetings' with the entire project workforce.
+ Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations, and owner/contractual requirements.
+ Conduct and document daily safety and health inspections.
+ Participate in safety pre-construction meetings.
+ Identify known/potential hazards and recommend corrective action.
+ Maintain a comprehensive Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and safety documentation binder on site.
Essential Skills
+ 5 years of continuous experience as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) in general construction on projects sized $50MM or more.
+ Experience with EM 385-1-1 standards.
+ 30 Hour OSHA Construction Certification.
+ Strong knowledge in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in structural steel, concrete, and CMU construction.
+ First Aid/CPR/AED Trainer certification.
+ Competency in Fall Protection, Aerial lifts, Scaffolding, PPE requirements, Confined Space, Ladders, LOTO, Trenching/Excavation, Demolition, and Heavy Equipment.
+ Experience with Procore software.
Work Environment
The role involves working on the F-35 Hanger project in Miramar, a 166,000 square feet facility that will replace the iconic hanger featured in the Top Gun film. This project is part of the P-201 F-35C Joint Strike Fighter Maintenance Hanger initiative, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
This position is eligible for our benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental insurance. We also offer a 401(k) plan with company match, company paid holidays and vacation.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in San Diego,CA.
