Job Summary
Anchor Diamond, an Oldcastle APG company, designs and develops hardscape products, including segmental retaining wall blocks. Anchor Wall Engineering, LLC (AWE) provides segmental retaining wall engineering services for Anchor Diamond. AWE provides preliminary and final design for millions of square feet of segmental retaining walls around the world. Our staff of professional engineers have over 85 years of combined experience and are excited to provide mentorship opportunities to student interns who are passionate about engineering and segmental retaining wall design.
Job Responsibilities
Read and interpret construction plans (civil, architectural, structural) for retaining wall information
Assist with preliminary design using industry standard software (AnchorWall, MSEW, SRWall)
Assist with performing global stability analysis using industry standard software (GSlope, ReSSA)
Prepare material quantity estimates
Interns will spend 1 day/week (minimum) at the corporate office of AWE in Minnetonka, MN. The rest of the work week will be either remote at home or remote at Coffman Memorial Union in Minneapolis, MN together with an AWE engineer.
Job Requirements
Majoring in Geoengineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
Experience with software such as AutoCAD 2D
Understand basic engineering principles of mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) structures (Preferred)
Ability to work independently, as well as in teams
Compensation
The hourly pay rate is $22.00
